Little Feather Studio Pottery

Lia Lyons-Grosso

CARRYING PLACE, Ontario

Booth O-51

MINI BIO

Little Feather Studio is a reflection of my journey towards discovering who I truly am. As a person of mixed settler and Odawa heritage, my art is a physical example of the beautiful and complex relationship that exists in that identity. A limited colour palate and banding of tactile clay reminds me of our relationship to the Earth, its creatures and elements as well as the strings that link us to our past, present and future. My work is a narrative of the quest for deeper connection to culture, land, spirituality and community. Recently, I have begun to incorporate painterly motifs directly related to ancestry, clans, and medicine.
