Signed by Dahliah (SBD) is sketched, designed, and sewn by the creator of the brand Courtney Reid. From a young age, Courtney would often see Dahliah sewing outfits for her and her cousins. Eventually Dahliah taught Courtney the basics and fundamentals of sewing. She also encouraged creativity.

Drawing inspiration from Courtney's Jamaican heritage, Signed by Dahliah is influenced by the picturesque landscapes that have left an impression during trips to Jamaica as well as the pastel street art seen in local Jamaican markets. Additionally, the assortment of plants and flowers, grown in both grandmothers' gardens (in Jamaica and Canada), have been a significant and constant source of inspiration. The idea of flowers and gardens has always been appealing because, like people, no two flowers or gardens are the same. Clothing style and choices are unique and different just like flowers and plants. At Signed by Dahliah, I want each garment to show quality and highlight the blending of my floral inspirations into unique, artisanal designs.
