Luther Lather Shaving Creamery is a micro-batch purveyor of Fine Luxe Shave Cream. The Company is fiercely dedicated to bringing back the swagger of well-groomed gentlemen by way of the proper wet shave.
Luther Lather pays homage to the generations that came long before us. Saluting the days when things took a little more time & effort to do a job well done. Inspired by past Legends & Grandfathers whom took time to elevate this daily ritual. The whipped cream is a (three-in-one) application being a shaving cream + moisturizer + aftershave. The intent is to rub the cream into skin post shave rather than rinse off.
Fond memories as a boy away at Prep school, Head BatchMaker Olin Penna would often receive care parcels from his parents which included treats & various toiletries. Running to the post office after class was the highlight of the week, to discover the much-anticipated parcel of grooming supplies. This may have provoked the odd interest + appreciation for toiletries back then. Many years later, his wife sent him to a soap making workshop & the tinkering to curate his very own shaving cream took a life of its own & the passion was reignited once again.
Luther Lather first opened in 2016 on the wooden boardwalks of Charlottetown PEI selling to cruise ship passengers as they ventured into Port to explore. As business grew, the Creamery started travelling off island to regional gift expos and artisan markets where product would nearly be sold out at weekends close. Olin’s Father Doug, rejoins him while on tour and helps oversee quality & production. Its success over the last five years is what brings it to Toronto in 2021 and 2022.
