PH1 is a collaborative project by Melissa Espina and Pietro Gallo that fuses together the ancient artistry of encaustic painting with contemporary photography. Artists study the back and forth relationship between photography and wax by embracing the sculptural elements of encaustic, the removal and invoke ideas of memory and nostalgia.
