TJ Indigo Clothing Co.

Meet me at F-13
TJ Indigo Clothing Co. is a Toronto studio where traditional Japanese shibori technique meets modern, relaxed clothing design. Blending distinctive natural indigo “living blue” hues and hand-dyed patterns with contemporary silhouettes, TJ Indigo creates one-of-a-kind garments that are comfortable, expressive and made to be worn every day. Each piece is cut, sewn, and dyed from premium natural and often organic materials with care in Toronto, ON.

At the intersection of art and utility, where traditional craft meets modern design, TJ Indigo explores pattern, texture and silhouette through indigo-dyed textiles. The collection ranges from relaxed linen staples and organic fleece patchwork hoodies to repurposed denim pieces and statement coats, offering something for both minimal wardrobes and dopamine dressing.

Since its inception in 2015, TJ Indigo has been featured in the Martha Stewart collection and in television and print media, including the Toronto Star. The brand has participated in major craft shows across North America in Toronto, Vancouver, and Chicago, and its garments are worn by customers around the world, including Japan, by those who appreciate slow fashion and traditional textiles.

This spring, discover the story behind the garments. See stitched shibori samples and indigo-dyed textiles and learn how folding, stitching and dyeing transform into one-of-a-kind wearable art. Stop by to experience indigo up close and try unraveling a kumo shibori sample yourself.

Our soft and breathable 100% Cotton socks are manufactured locally in Toronto and hand dyed with natural plant based indigo in my studio. *Available in Unisex 7-9 and 10-12* Our Indigo shibori process is rooted in ancient Japan, where back in 1600’s the Samurai wore indigo-dyed fabrics under their armour to help keep bacteria from wounds. Natural indigo dyed clothing results in richer blues and has a surprising range of qualities like antibacterial and flame-resistant characteristics, as well as the fact that it repels odour and dirt, a perfect match for breathable cotton!
