Artisan Profile

Born in the Netherlands, Edwin Klis grew up in a district well-known for the tanneries and craftsmanship of various leather goods including shoes, bags, belts and accessories. When Edwin was at a young age the family moved to Canada and settled in the foothills of Alberta. Watching his father's work growing up; creating and manufacturing his own products, Edwin's own passion for leather and craftsmanship developed.
Upon completing his high school education in Alberta and wanting to expand his knowledge of the leather industry, Edwin travelled to Europe where he worked at different leather factories. Here he expanded his knowledge and learned new and valuable skills that he brought back to Canada. Edwin continues his journey of craftsmanship by always learning, discovering, innovating and using this skill set to take pride in creating quality products for everyone to enjoy.
