Mary Karavos is an award winning artist who works in the realm of paper fibre.
While studying in Florence, Italy, Mary felt boundless inspiration that led to a new artistic expression. Layering only the finest imported Japanese, Nepalese, Korean and specialty paper fragments she creates a rich interplay of colour space and texture.
Her work has been exhibited internationally at Art On Paper New York, Monaco, France, Italy, Chicago, San Francisco, Seattle and the Affordable Art Fairs in New York, London, Singapore, Brussels, Amsterdam, Germany and Boston.
For more than 30 years she is still exploring her love for paper and the creative process involved in an original work of art.
This year Mary celebrates her 17th year at the One of a Kind Christmas Show!!

Piece by piece, layer upon layer, my work evolves into a unique textural composition. Using fragments of imported paper as my palette, I create each piece through an organic, painterly process- yet without a single drop of paint. Every element is thoughtfully placed, resulting in artwork defined entirely by texture, colour, and form drawn from paper itself.
Materials: Japanese, Nepalese, Thai, Korean and specialty papers on gallery style birch panel. No Paint!
