Artisan Profile

Simon Trudeau lives in Montreal since 20 years. He had obtained over the years two diplomas in visual arts and in industrial design at Montreal University.
The bags that he designs and makes by hand come from a industrial design student project in 1990. Simon Trudeau is still hesitating to define himself as a designer, an artist or a artisan. At the crossroad of these professions he tends to look at himself as an artist who works experimentaly with industrial technics. ? I design the bags and sculpt the molds and make all the steps of the production?.
?My rational mind is inspired by technics and machine and my irrational side is attracted by the complex sacred shapes of nature, I want my bags to look like huge jewels or empty sculptures that you can fill and carry with you...?
